Digg Doing the Acquisition Dance?

Valleywag reports that Digg may be in talks to sell the company to a major media outfit for $300-400 million. According to the report, “the big four” (Google, Yahoo, News Corp, and Microsoft) have already passed on buying Digg, but big old media companies like The New York Times and The Washington Post would be the likely acquirers.

Adelson certainly did not rule out an acquisition in a recent interview. He told the Register “Digg, in and of itself, is an incredible opportunity alone … but if somebody can get me there faster – and of course pay enough money for us … then rock'n'roll, make it happen. I have yet to meet someone who can do that.”
