Vivox gets $7.8 million in a second round of equity financing from Benchmark Capital and participation from existing investors Canaan Partners and GrandBanks Capital. It's a more difficult option to execute but provides more realistic game play and less distraction once implemented in a useful manner. As we've seen with existing voice offerings for virtual worlds like Second Life, there are still known issues yet to overcome. Ambient is another company working on voice tools that could be used for virtual worlds as well.
