You typically see startups being funded and then being acquired. And they're usually acquired by a larger company hoping to integrate a niche offering into its suite of consumer sites or advertising networks. But beRecruited did it the other way around.

After being acquired by RVS Ventures, it has just closed its first round of investment from Madison Parker Capital, for an undisclosed amount. With a focus on high school sports and an online network for helping athletes and recruiters find each other, beRecruited still faces some fierce competition from Takkle. So funding and furthered means for growth and development are surely at the top of beRecruited's action items list.

Along with this funding, Brent Brown of Madison Parker Capital, who is already a member of beRecruited's Board of Directors, will be taking an even more active role in the business. As you may recall from beRecruited's acquisition announcement, former ESPN exec Jeff Cravens has also been appointed as President.
