After the launching of more involved online efforts for the distribution of their comic book content, Marvel and DC Comics have both initiated attacks on comic torrents and Usenet uploaders. The two companies are working together on this front to control more of the online presence of their content.
Comic book tracker Z-Cult FM has received letters from both comic publishers in their partnered initiative, as they are threatening legal attacks on Z-Cult FM if it does not take action in 3 days. With the ultimate (and obligatory) statement of threatening to have the entire Z-Cult FM site shut down, it looks like Marvel and DC Comics mean business. They've sent letters out to other trackers as well, and so far it looks like most have complied, including Z-Cult.
