MixerCast, the collaborative multimedia mashup creation tool, has called down $4.25 million of a $5.57 million Series B round, according to a report from PEHub. The company, which already raised an estimated $2.6 million earlier this summer, will likely be using this portion of the funding round for furthered development of its mashup widget tools.

Already having integration options with several social networks and blogging platforms, including MySpace and Xanga, MixerCast may see some potential interest in OpenSocial. Another tool, Kaltura, has created an integrated collaboration mashup tool for Facebook, and I can see MixerCast going in a similar direction.

With Flickr, Photobucket and others lending image-editing tools, music mashups and exportable slideshow options, it's important that MixerCast continue to offer its wide selection of integrated tools, resources and places from which media, content, and even widgets can be pulled for inclusion in a MixerCast mashup.
