If you've hung around the site for more than a few minutes, you're probably aware of my penchant for politics. As such, I couldn't resist getting the guys from ThePoint on the line this evening. [img src="http://sale-online.click/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/tipping-point.jpg" caption="" credit="" alt="tipping-point.jpg"]A couple of guys from the site met up with Kristen at the Chicago Mashable event, and passed their company information along.

We had a chance to take a look at what they do, and I have to say I was fairly impressed. Typically, I'm not a fan of online petitions. Something about simply putting together a list of names didn't really seem to capture the essence of social action or ending great injustice.

ThePoint, though, provides a unique and goals oriented approach to online petitions, holding all's action until a certain level of group involvement is reached. We had a chance to explore the business model, the marketing strategy, and myriad of applications for this invaluable Web 2.0 tool.

The conversation runs about 15 minutes, and took place in a hallway at the restaurant for ThePoint's Christmas party. You can listen by playing from the embed below the jump, or subscribing to the podcast feed.
