Christmas On the Web...Sucks

Maybe none of the Internet big names wanted to insult people, or maybe they just weren't in the spirit, but Christmas themed logos this year were notably absent. No Technorati... no YouTube... it's just not very Christmas-like out on the web this year, and what is out there... well, let's be blunt, pretty much blows.

Here's what we found, make of it what you will.

Ask.com got in the spirit with falling snowflakes and Christmas ornaments. Could this be the start of Ask finally trying to get some form of corporate identity outside of their butler, Jeeves, who disappeared under "mysterious circumstances"?

AOL... it's like some sort of bad graphic from a Super Nintendo Zelda game of the 1990s.

Google decided to take a few days to build this logo, and you could watch stick figures assembling it. It's cute, but... eh.

Even the pirates over at The Pirate Bay can be filled with the Christmas spirit... ho ho ho and a bottle of egg nog!

See those tiny white specks? That's Robert Scoble's blog with a little pizazz added by the guys at Wordpress.com.

Flash-powered, you watch presents magically appear... and greedy kids and dogs think they're entitled to them and run in to take some of them! What is this teaching the youth of America?!? "Hey kids! Magically appearing items are fair game for looting!"
