CBS is feeling left out of the political coverage in the world of web 2.0, so it's teaming up with Digg for online coverage of the 2008 elections. So now we've got YouTube and CNN, Facebook and ABC, and Digg and CBS. Does FOX count since it's been doing its own thing with the dialogues on MySpace?

[img src="" caption="" credit="" alt=""]At any rate, the cooperation between CBS and Digg is a little more long-standing than what we've seen in the past. Instead of focusing on a single event, such as a debate, Digg will be providing digg buttons to be featured on CBS news online articles and videos that are relevant to the election. All of these aggregated headlines will be available on Digg, and other election-related headlines from the social bookmarking tool will be distributed throughout CBSNews.com as well.

I was hesitant about Digg's involvement with the political elections when it promoted its recently launched social networking tools for a congregated approach to individual candidates, but this partnership with CBS seems to better utilize Digg's tools. It's also an opportunity for CBS to better distribute its content throughout several aspects of the web, using Digg as a hub channeling various channels.
