I'm not a huge powerseller on eBay, so fee changes and seller contract adjustments rarely register as more than a blip on my radar, but I've been vaguely aware of a number of proposed changes that have been in the works for eBay sellers for some time now. Scot Wingo at eBay Strategies blog today points to these coming changes in a bit more specificity, although he doesn't have an exact date.

The top sellers on eBay are going to find out before the rest of us, though. They'll be getting calls from the Top Seller Account Management team (or "TSAMs") outlining in general the fee changes that are set to be officially announced next week with eBay's earnings call. The biggest good news for top earners is that the auction company will now be offering bulk discounts.

The rumored details are vague, but it looks as if for those that engage in massive amounts of item listing on eBay will receive a bulk price break. Wingo doesn't find this surprising at all, and is one of the three major things he has been suggesting since December that eBay focus on to fix "what ails them."

He believes that the strategy concerning auction site should focus on the "three Fs" of Fraud, Finding and Fees (in that order of priority). Fraud is an issue that more and more watchers of eBay say is becoming a pervasive problem, and having more registration requirements for buyers and sellers would go a long way to prevent fraud from entering the system in the first place.
