Report: Yahoo Board Heavily Divided Over Microsoft Bid

The latest, rather unsurprising turn in the Yahoo-Microsoft saga: most of Yahoo’s board members disagree with the company’s current anti-Microsoft stance. According to a report in The New York Post, Yahoo’s new Chairman Roy Bostock (who, coincidentally, took over from Terry Semel the night before Microsoft’s bid) has support of most of the board, while Yang is left with only a couple of close allies that are fiercely battling to keep the company out of Microsoft’s hands.

This news comes at the end of a week where we’ve seen numerous reports of alternative Yahoo strategies, including potential deals with AOL or News Corp. However, as most onlookers (including us) have argued, there simply does not appear to be another way for Yahoo to create as much value for shareholders as by simply accepting Microsoft’s bid.
