China's Alibaba Wants a Voice in Microsoft-Yahoo Discussion

Alibaba, the Chinese Internet firm that is part-owned by Yahoo, wants a seat at the table in the ongoing discussion over Microsoft’s proposed acquisition. According to Reuters, the Chinese government isn’t fond of Microsoft and their “reputation of using monopolistic tactics.” Additionally, Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang sits on the Alibaba board.

It’s not clear what say, if any, Alibaba would have in approving or rejecting a Microsoft bid, though Reuters notes the company’s management thinks a deal will eventually go through.
