LiveVideo Officially Launches. Did You Notice?

LiveVideo isn't new to the space by any stretch of the imagination. The YouTube rival has been around for well over a year now, debuting its video-sharing network in December, 2006. But today marks LiveVideo's official launch, and the man behind it, MySpace founder Brad Greenspan, is making a big ado about LiveVideo being, well, officially "live."

A couple of things that are being heavily promoted as part of this launch are video features from NBA star Steve Nash, and the collaborative capabilities of LiveVideo's broadcasting tools. Having stirred up a bit of controversy last year by approaching top YouTube users in order to lure them into the LiveVideo camp, Greenspan knows all about the marketing power of having popular and widely appealing "star power" on one's site. Steve Nash's promo on LiveVideo is also a way for him to get in touch with fans, as the interactive, real-time, post-game Q&A sessions are quite similar in concept to the primaries held on YouTube in conjunction with CNN.
