Forget BFF. Try Rivals4Ever.

Maybe it's all the political activity going on right now, thanks to the upcoming presidential elections, but there has been an increase in social networks, like outquibb, that have built-in debate formats. Rivals4Ever (R4E) is the latest. And while the official story behind this new site is citing the film "Fever Pitch" as the real reason behind the new launch, it doesn't hurt that we're about to have a historic presidential race that has particularly sparked online discussions across the world.

To that end, R4E is all about getting folks together that don't mind arguing. Seems perfect for politics, but there actually isn't a lot of political jargon on the site just yet (we'll leave it to Rizzn to get that started on R4E). You can create your own rival, or join one to add to its momentum. Pick a side you support, and add your evidence.

This layout is very similar to the recently launched MonkeyBrain section of Squidoo, where you pick a topic and look to the web for supporting evidence. With R4E, you can add "weapons," weaknesses, images, videos, comments, and events. Surprisingly I don't see an option for adding links.

Given the actual simplicity of R4E, I'm also wondering if there will be any future plans for providing a comprehensive database of information that's been collected around a given rivalry or aspect of a rivalry. For instance, if I search for "Twitter" on R4E I'll get the rivalries in which Twitter has been featured. But there's a wealth of information that users have collected and added to the site for the sake of providing support for Twitter, by way of image and video galleries, quotes, comments, and blurbs.
