As reported earlier today, YouTube will launch its own live video service later this year. This follows the recent alpha launch of Yahoo Live, and the emergence of several “lifecasting” startups like UStream, Justin.tv, and Mogulus. YouTube absolutely dominates the competition in video sharing (roughly 6x more popular than the closest competitor according to some statistics), so their entry into the live video market has to send chills up the spines of the existing players.
