IMSafer has been one of the more prominent child protection solutions for parents and social networks on the Internet for some time now, and the company has caught the eye of Crisp, the UK-based child safety technology specialist. Crisp has announced today the completion of its acquisition of IMSafer, for an undisclosed amount.

I've had the opportunity to follow IMSafer for over a year, and even in the wake of additional privacy options applied to existing social networks, along with a string of lawsuits brought against the likes of MySpace, IMSafer has been able to present itself as an agnostic and consumer-ended approach that doesn't rely on actions led by the social network itself, or even the access location of the child (meaning children are protected at home, school, friends' houses, etc.).
