SezWho, the comment-tracking service, is layering in a great deal of support for a new platform approach; aside from adding support for phpBB to extend its capabilities to participating forums, SezWho is also launching a new developer toolkit for added support across more social media platforms. What's more, SezWho now includes RSS feeds, so you also have the capabilities of tracking feeds as well as comments.

This particular feature has been a primary reason why fav.or.it, too, has been able to stand apart from the crowd from comment-tracking, as it allows individuals to own their comments across all sites, not just those that sign on for a particular comment-tracking service. Additionally, the API release allows publishers to own their comments for any particular reason.

With all the added support from SezWho, its feature sets are better able to compete with the likes of Disqus and fav.or.it, which are quickly layering similar tools for their services, putting more control in the hands of publishers and individual content consumers. In terms of this individual control, I like that the industry is moving towards this direction through APIs and better leveraging of RSS feeds for more useful concentration of custom collected data.
