GamerDNA, formerly known as GuildCafe, has raised a $3 million Series A round of financing, led by Flybridge Capital Partners. Having used its previous $600k in seed funding (also from Flybridge) to build out its MMORPG networking tools for games like World of Warcraft, this additional funding will help GamerDNA expand beyond MMORPGs.
Not too many details have been given in regards to how GamerDNA, still in private beta, wants to expand in this manner. However, the focus will still be on related social networking for its target video-gamer demographic. In building up a community in this manner, players will be able to join forces with friends, share stories, and stay updated to their friends' activities across games in which they're involved.
