This isn't the first concert to go live online, and MSN has been among those larger companies tat have worked to offer such streaming entertainment for some years now. In partnership with event producer Control Room, MSN's Music In Concert initiative is gearing up to offer Madonna, live online. Previous acts to stream concerts with MSN's program include Rod Stewart, Snoop Dogg, and more.
Aside from the mere streaming of concerts online, what's been slower to adopt is integrated streams within other applications, like Second Life or any other social network. What we're more likely to see is an increased viewership build up around individual players that combine broadcast and other IPTV programs, or players coming directly from the content creators themselves.
