Out of the blue, Microsoft complains about Google's privacy policies again. Talking to ZDNet.com.au, Microsoft's chief privacy strategist Peter Cullen said that "Google's a great company, got some great products, but you know in some respects I think Google is where Microsoft was seven or 10 years ago."
This might even be true, but Cullen's reasoning doesn't sound like he's done his homework. "Microsoft has over 40 full-time people invested in privacy and over 400 part-time people. Google hasn't — at least from what I read about them — evolved to that," he said. I hate to break it to you, Peter, but having a number of people working on something doesn't really guarantee success. Microsoft has had thousands of people working on Vista, and look how that turned out.
