Squidoo is taking things a bit further though, leveraging the concept of Q&As to turn Twitter into a massive content creation service for them, through a new product dubbed Twttrstrm. The idea is to ask a question to your Twitter followers, and have Squidoo place the answers – and lots of supplemental information – on a brand new Lens (the Squidoo equivalent of a Wikipedia page).
For example, the Squidoo team asked “What do you like most about Mashable?” (how clever of them!) They then created a hashtag - #luvmashable – and in turn, all tweets that use that hastag get placed on the Squidoo Lens for the question. You can also just reply from the Lens, without using Twitter.
The Lens also includes Mashable’s most recent blog posts, the most recent tweets from Pete and myself, and a voting area where users can vote for their favorite Mashable posts. That’s all done through the various modules that Squidoo lets users place on their Lenses.
