As reported previously, the feature integrates Twitter’s search tool and trending topics into the navbar that users of the Web interface see. There's also now a "Matching Users" component on the sidebar of the search results, so when you search for "Mashable" for example (see below), you see both tweets about Mashable and our main Twitter account and the accounts of a few RSS buzztrackers.

Of course, all of this is irrelevant to users of Twitter clients like Tweetdeck or Twhirl, but with the bulk of Twitter users still using the Web interface, it introduces the incredibly useful search tool to a much broader audience.
