I've previously discussed at length why three-strikes law is an awful solution to deal with piracy, and luckily the British government is now on the same page, at least when it comes to taking people's net access away. A spokesman for the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, said that cutting people off the net is not the government's "preferred option," and that net access is now as valuable as water and electricity. This is definitely an improved point of view, and in line with the European Union's directives on the matter.
