It's Official: the iPhone is Coming to China

It was all shrouded in a thick mist of speculations and discussions behind closed doors, but now it's finally official: Chinese telecom company Unicom has signed a 3-year exclusive deal with Apple to deliver the iPhone to the world's most populous nation.

China Unicom has 141 million subscribers, and they'll get to choose between two different varieties of the iPhone 3G (no details have been specified), for a currently unknown price. The iPhone(s) will start pouring into China some time during the fourth quarter of 2009.
