Yeah, I barely remember it either, but the scores of glowing reviews and ensuing breakout sales figures were bizarre and hilarious enough for even the New York Times to take notice. Weeks after most of us forgot about the joke, the shirt is still ranked in the Top 10 of Amazon's Apparel section.

LA Weekly reports that The Mountain -- the company behind the shirt -- is hoping to further capitalize on its success with a book. Tentatively titled "Sheep in Wolves Clothing," the book appears to be guided by the over-the-top positive reviews that made the shirt so popular in the first place.

It's becoming pretty common for Internet memes and humorous websites to get book deals. Since 2008, "Stuff White People Like," "I Can Haz Cheeseburger," "This is Why You're Fat" and "Hot Girls with DBs" have all gone from computer screens to bookstores.

According to the book proposal The Mountain sent LA Weekly, the "Three Wolf Moon" shirt was discussed for several minutes at the last Amazon.com shareholders meeting. Those meetings are only 30 minutes in length, so dedicating that much time to an Internet meme is clearly a sign that the executives want more insight into what made the shirt such a success.

The question of course, becomes, if "Three Wolf Moon" does get a book deal, will anyone care? The humor of the shirt is more wrapped up in the user-generated reviews, and the fad of wearing the shirt ironically, not in the shirt itself. With other meme-turned-books, the content and photos themselves at least stood for something on their own.

Would you buy the "Three Wolf Moon" book?
