Citing a report from Taiwan Economic News, Ars Technica reports several Taiwanese manufacturers have won contracts with Apple to supply components for "tablet PCs." The report also indicates these tablet devices will be launching in February 2010.
The report names Wintek as the manufacturer of the multi-touch LCD screen, with a supposed size of 9.6-inches. A supply of "long-lasting" batteries will supposedly be provided by DynaPack, which sounds like good news to us power-hungry souls who can never get enough battery life.
The report names a few other suppliers as well, which makes the Apple Tablet appear even more like an inevitable reality -- as well as seemingly like a fairly conspicuous leak considering how shrouded in secrecy Apple loves its new product launches to be.
What do you think: will we see an iPad hit the market as early as February? Given the form factor and other rumoured details, does it seem like something you might pick up?
