Now if you want to filter the news stories you see on the homepage, you can simply identify a few keywords, with assistance from Google, label it, and create a custom view of news. You can also optionally publish your Google News section to a public custom news sections directly.
We think Google is on to something here. The new feature reminds us of Twitter's new Lists, because user's can now define what's important to them and share their personalized sections with the larger community.
In the directory you can even view how many Google users are using each of custom created sections, see section ratings, and sort by type, category, rating, or users. The only downside is that right now the feature is only available in the English language, though it is accessible to outside the United States to Google News users in Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
