Twitter Fever! Yahoo Search Adds Twitter News Content

It seems like every search engine has gone gaga for Twitter. Last month, Microsoft's Bing inked a search deal with Twitter to integrate tweets into search results. Only a few hours later, Google shot back with its own search deal and announced Social Search as the cherry on top.

Now Yahoo Search, which is in the awkward position of waiting for the Microsoft search deal to close, has also caught the Twitter fever. The Internet company has just launched an expanded news module within Yahoo Search results, one that not only includes news, photos, and videos, but curated Twitter news feeds as well.

The integration's actually quite simple: when you search for developing news stories (Yahoo's example is the Space Shuttle Atlantis), the news module will appear at the top with four tabs for news, photos, videos, and Twitter. The Twitter feed takes tweets from well-known news sources (e.g. BBC) and then provides a link to search Twitter for that news item.
