David Letterman Gets a Twitter Machine [VIDEO]

Last night's Late Show was no different on that front, with Twitter one-liners flying left and right. Still, this episode did include one momentous event: David Letterman's very first tweet. We knew you would come around, Dave.

So what did the host have to say to the world? A very succinct: "Do you smell veal and peppers?"

Letterman's tweets, which appear to be included as a part of the Late Show's Twitter account, are easy to spot. A majority of the updates are promotional in nature, but as of right now, there're only three tweets that are Letterman-like. Our favorite? "I'm making toast!"

While Letterman catches up with the rest of us, watch this hilarious video to see Dave reluctantly enter the Twittersphere. We particularly enjoyed Letterman's crack at Jimmy Fallon, his exaggerated concentration on the physical act of tweeting and his reference to his new laptop as a "Twitter Machine." Enjoy.
