Reports seem to go back about three hours, and at $100/year for the service, customers are more than justified in voicing their frustrations on Twitter. The MobileMe System Status page reads:
-MobileMe members may be unable to sign in to the MobileMe Preferences Control Panel on Windows. We apologize for any inconvenience.
-MobileMe members may be unable to sign in to MobileMe in Mac OS X System Preferences. We apologize for any inconvenience.
-MobileMe members might be unable to log in to iChat. We apologize for any inconvenience.
-MobileMe members cannot access the www.me.com site. Normal service will be restored ASAP. We apologize for any inconvenience.
You might remember that MobileMe had a disastrous launch in 2008, requiring an apology. This latest outage not only dents confidence in MobileMe, but also in our increasing reliance on cloud computing.
