After he disappeared from a minimum-security prison in Suffolk in late September, the man (named Craig Lynch) posted status updates about what kind of steak he was eating, the temperature, and his New Year's plans, stopping just shy of giving police enough information to find him. He even posted profile pictures with signs mocking his pursuers.
He was caught in southern England last night, but the AP report on the subject doesn't say whether or not he was caught as a result of his social networking shenanigans. The Mirror reports that he broke out "close to the end" of his seven-year aggravated burglary sentence. Were 40,000 Facebook fans and a few parties worth making his situation worse in the long run? Probably not.
