The Trouble With Check-Ins [COMIC]

As if it’s not annoying enough to have to wait in line at Chipotle because the customer in front of you is babbling on their cell phone – what about a future in which everyone is checking in to a half dozen services every time they go somewhere?

That’s the theme of a comic published today by Andrew Jones, a developer and cartoonist in Atlanta, who just launched StatusThis, an ongoing webcomic series that will focus on social media and other emerging technologies:

We thought it was pretty clever, so we asked Andrew if we could share it and talked to him briefly about the new site. He tells us he’s been in web development for 13 years and currently works for Engauge, where each member of the social media team is required to blog at least once per week. The comic will be his contribution.
