The next version of Apple's mobile operating system, iOS 4.2, has gone gold and was released to developers, meaning the official version should reach the consumers' devices in a matter of weeks or even days.
One of the biggest changes in iOS 4.2 is the new multitasking bar for the iPad, which now has both volume and brightness controls, as well as a dedicated AirPlay button.
Apple also seems to have enabled users to log into MobileMe settings using an Apple ID, but the option is not fully functional yet.
