Dubbed Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity, the music streaming part of the service is currently available in the UK and Ireland, and Sony plans to roll it out in the U.S., as well as Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and New Zealand next year.

The service can be synchronized with user's existing music files, including iTunes. Also, it cannot currently be accessed on smartphones or multimedia players, but Sony plans to add support for those at a later date.

The two-tiered pricing model gives customers a choice between the basic access, which costs £3.99 a month, and premium membership, which costs £9.99 and enables the creation of playlists and favorites, as well as access to premium Top 100 channels.
