Rumors about Carter's death apparently started on Thursday evening. #RIPaaroncarter was trending on Twitter before Carter himself put the rumors to the end with a tweet: "This is the real Aaron Carter I know there's a Hoax Going Around, But I'm Here, Alive & Well."
The Twitterverse has since been speculating that the rumors were started by Justin Bieber fans to signify Bieber's replacement of Carter as a teenage pop icon, thus the founding of #RIPBELIEBERS. Given Twitter's track record of accuracy, we're hauling in a truckload of salt to take with that one.
Charlie Sheen left straightening out news about his own death to his ex-wife Denise Richards, who tweeted on Sunday that "The rumor about Charlie Sheen is not true. He is alive and on his way over to see his daughters."
