Klout Snags $8.5 Million to Measure Social Media Influence

The San Francisco-based company worked with the Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byer sFund with participation from Graycroft Partners. Other investors in the round include ff Asset Management, Paige Craig, Howard Lindzon, Thomas McInerney and Bobby Yazdani, among others.

The round brings Klout's total funding to more than $10 million to date. Klout raised $1.5 million in funding back in April.

Known for its "Klout Score," which ranks social media influence, the company uses data such as likes, comments and friendship networks to determine its rankings.
