Can Two Guys Fix Dangerous Cooking in Africa? [VIDEO]

Stove Man is a new webseries launched by The Paradigm Project to help bring some laughs and awareness to the dangers of cooking over open fires in developing countries.

The series follows project founder Greg Spencer and his friend and activist-in-arms Austin Mann as they travel around Africa delivering low-cost cook stoves to people in need. Open fires require large amounts of wood, cause respiratory disease and, as shown in the video, are a total pain.

The first episode (above) shows Spencer and Mann getting playfully teased by locals and generally doing their best to keep up. Amid the playfulness there is a serious message.

The stoves cut down the need for difficult treks while simultaneously providing a cleaner, healthier way for people to cook. Throughout the series, Spencer and Mann will try to distribute 5 million of these stoves, while showing what it's like to cook in dangerous conditions, walk miles for supplies and live on less than $2 a day.
