Spotify Gets a Boost From Chevrolet at Launch [INVITES]

The moment many music lovers had been waiting for came this morning when Spotify finally made it to U.S. shores. Chevrolet announced Thursday that it will be one of the music subscription service's first advertisers, and the first automobile company to support Spotify at launch.

To herald the coming of Spotify, Chevy is offering 150,000 invites to Spotify's free service through its Facebook Page in the Chevrolet Sonic tab. It has also given Mashable 500 invites to the free version of Spotify to dole out to our readers -- click here to nab one.

Over the course of the day, we'll be seeing other launch partners emerge but the Chevy partnership is certainly intriguing. Perhaps we'll see Spotify coming bundled in Chevy cars in the coming months. In-car service is one of the most important frontiers in the music subscription service game.
