Foursquare has added five new languages to its app: Bahasa Indonesian, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Thai.

To check in using those languages, users need to update the latest version of Foursquare. The app will automatically switch to the phone's default language setting.

This is the second wave of Foursquare's efforts at global language expansion. Co-founder and CEO Dennis Crowley announced that the app would be translated into French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish at the Mobile World Congress in February.

According to a Foursquare blog post, the use of the app in countries where those languages are spoken has since "exploded."
