If you're wondering who would want such a thing, just think of Apple's iPod touch. A simple ("dumb," as these devices are often called) phone does the job when you need to call or text someone. Having an Android device -- one that can launch apps, connect to the Internet and browse the web -- on the side can be an interesting proposition for those on a tight budget.

Enter Samsung Galaxy WiFi 3.6: an Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) device with a 1 GHz OMAP processor, a 3.65-inch screen, 8 GB or 16 GB of memory (further expandable through microSD cards), Wi-Fi connectivity and a 2-megapixel camera on the back plus a VGA one on the front for video calls.

It also comes with most of the bells and whistles adorning today's smartphones, such as GPS, a 3.5 mm ear jack, Bluetooth, USB 2.0, accelerometer and compass. Finally, it supports a wide variety of video and audio codecs, which makes it quite a nice little package for multimedia, gaming, or app use on the go.
