You can now call your Facebook friends from Skype -- even if those Facebook friends don't have Skype.

Skype announced two new versions of its product Thursday: Skype 5.4 Beta for Mac and Skype 5.7 Beta for Windows. Both include Facebook integrations that essentially add your Facebook friends to your Skype contact list.

Facebook launched video chat powered by Skype in July, but the feature only allows Facebook friends to video chat with each other when they are both on Facebook. With Skype's new integration, users who connect their Facebook profiles can make video calls from within Skype to friends who will answer using Facebook. They can also see from Skype's dashboard when Facebook friends are online, read their status updates and IM them.

The integration will expand most users' Skype contact lists dramatically, making Skype a more attractive social homebase.

"We are on a mission to connect over one billion people and our continued partnership with Facebook brings us one step closer to this goal," the company said of the feature in a blog post.
