Starting this month, participating vendors Toys "R" Us, American Eagle Outfitters, Old Navy, Wet Seal and Simon Malls, among others, will start offering "kicks" (Shopkick's proprietary rewards points) for buying merchandise at those stores.

To participate in the deals, consumers need to download Shopkick's app (on iPhone or Android) and then link it to their Visa account. The "Buy & Collect" offers will be broadcast to consumers' smartphones when they enter the stores. After you buy something with your Visa card, the amount of points will also be displayed on your phone.

Cyriac Roeding, CEO and co-founder of Shopkick, says 825 kicks are good for a $25 meal at a restaurant (via Restaurant.com) and Toys "R" Us is offering 520 kicks with an $85 purchase. You also get 200 kicks from various vendors just for walking through their doors.

Adding rewards for purchases is the latest wrinkle to Shopkick's array of rewards programs. In May, the company also announced a program with CW Television Network that offered kicks for watching and recording (via your phone's microphone) specified ads on the network.

The video below outlines how Buy & Collect works. Would you use this? Let us know in the comments.
