Through Nov. 30, Facebook users can navigate to the Holiday Giving tab on Walmart's page to submit a nomination. This year, Walmart writes, "we want to help make sure families don't have to worry about basic needs like food, shelter, baby formula, diapers and coats." For 12 days beginning December 12, the mega-chain will announce daily winners to receive a slice of its money pie.

Users have already submitted hundreds of nominees, ranging from breast cancer support organizations to food pantries to services for families of injured military veterans.

Walmart posted Wednesday to the Non-Profits on Facebook page to drum up further support for its "12 Days of Giving" campaign and add to the list of potential recipients.
