'Tis the season for stressful airport experiences, and Skype wants to make sure you at least have Wi-Fi as you brave crowded security lines and delayed flights.
Starting Wednesday, the company will run a promotion for its Wi-Fi hotspot service that will give an hour of free Internet access to travelers at more than 50 U.S. airports.
To take advantage of the free Wi-Fi, you'll need to set up a Skype account. You can then log on at the airport using Skype for Windows, Skype for Mac or the Skype Wi-Fi iOS app. Participating airports are plotted on the map above and on Skype's website.
Google has sponsored Wi-Fi access in both airports and airplanes during past holiday seasons -- no doubt noting the brand benefits of aiding captive travelers. In Skype's case, the promotion will also introduce travelers to its relatively new Wi-Fi service.
