Like the first title, which gained more attention after Alec Baldwin's run in with a flight attendant last month, SWF is a word game. While WWF is a Scrabble-like word-building game, SWF challenges users to find words in a jumbled grid. The title is based on one of Zynga's earliest games, Scramble, which has been downloaded by 2.5 million Facebook users.

Zynga, which introduced its first hidden objects game, Hidden Chronicles on Wednesday, planned to make SWF available at Apple's App Store Thursday morning. (At press time, the link wasn't functional.) Like other With Friends titles from Zynga, SWF lets you challenge Facebook friends to games. The title also uses the same dictionary and has similar scoring as well as in-game chat.

Words With Friends was introduced by Newtoy in 2009. The game became part of the Zynga lineup after the company bought Newtoy in late 2010. WWF, already a success under Newtoy, has continued to be a hit, racking up around 16 million monthly active users, according to AppData.

Eager to build on its success in mobile and build beyond its base of desktop games, Zynga has created a "With Friends" franchise including WWF and Hanging With Friends, a Hangman-like game introduced last June.
