Smartphone cameras have been busier than ever this week -- there were more than 56 million photos posted on Twitter, a new record.
It was a stellar group of pics this week, showing quite a different bunch of shots from those we saw last week. Last week's most popular pictures were mostly cheerful and funny, with summer being the main theme in the top 10. This week's conversation on Twitter, however, was ruled by two disruptive events: The massacre in Houla and the earthquake in Northern Italy. Our hearts go out to the victims.
