Inside Twitter's New San Francisco Headquarters [PICS]

Changes are afoot at Twitter. First, the company introduced a new logo, and now it's moving in to new digs in the Mid-Market neighborhood of San Francisco.

Local photographer Troy Holden stopped in to snap some beautiful shots of the new office, which takes up three floors at 1355 Market Street. From what we can tell, Twitter may be big on offering employees common space, but very little about their new offices can be called common.

The space features a yoga studio, a rooftop garden and an arcade—essential elements in any productive workplace, really. And of course, in keeping with its avian motif, there are lots of images of birds.

The social media company's move marks a big change for the City of San Francisco; the area surrounding the newly restored art deco SF Mart building is long due for a revival. Empty storefronts and homelessness have marked the as area seedy and undesirable, but city officials are hoping that Twitter's presence can turn things around.

In 2011, Twitter opted to stick around San Francisco after the city's Board of Supervisors approved a tax break that eliminated the payroll tax for new hires. According to the San Francisco Examiner, the company is also working with the city to improve transit, create new dedicated bike lanes in the area and a new police substation on nearby Sixth Street. After all, crime isn't very Zen.
