Dish Network subscribers, who no longer receive AMC shows after the two media companies battled over programming fees, will be able to watch Sunday's season 3 premiere of The Walking Dead online.

AMC is letting Dish subscribers sign up to view the Oct. 14 premiere on the web.

The previous season's finale in March became the most-watched basic cable drama ever with more than 9 million viewers. During that episode, survivors escaped a deadly zombie attack on their farm and viewers were introduced to the sword-wielding Michonne. And at the end, viewers got their first brief glimpse of the prison.

Season 3 picks up months after the first prison sighting. The premiere will show the zombie apocalypse survivors battling outside of a prison, where they hope to seek sanctuary because of its potential amenities.

Once inside the prison, they will have to fend off any remaining zombie occupants and even other humans who might already call the prison home. "The Governor," a new villain who is the leader of a small community of survivors, also might foil their plans to occupy the prison.

AMC celebrated accumulating 10 million Facebook "Likes" in September by releasing a graphic that paid homage to The Social Network's movie poster from 2009. The Walking Dead returns to AMC on Oct. 14.
