Taylor Swift, whose fourth album Red came out Monday and was quickly catapulted to number one on the iTunes Top Albums chart, has chosen several of her social media followers to follow her in real life this week.

The fans will travel with the 22-year-old singer-songwriter in New York City to launch her week-long TV blitz that started on Good Morning America. Throughout the week, they will post live updates on Facebook and Twitter to give a glimpse of Swift's whirlwind media tour.

People can follow their tweets via the #TaylorFollowers hashtag, which already features updates:

Just had a conversation with @taylorswift13! What is life?!?! #GMA. #TaylorFollowers— Abby Smithhart (@abbytaylor13) October 22, 2012

Taylor said she would stand out in the rain to buy Joni mitchel's or James Taylor's cd! #RED #taylorfollowers #GMA— kate (@kstore09) October 22, 2012

Usually I'd be very jealous, but I can honestly say I'm so happy 4 all of the #TaylorFollowers! What an incredible time they must be having!— Travis Kernaghan (@TravisKernaghan) October 22, 2012

Songs from Red had already experienced success online before Monday's album launch, with digital paid song download sales hovering around 4 million. In August, Red's lead single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" set a U.S. digital sales record with 623,000 downloads, the most ever in one week for a female artist.

Swift's other TV appearances and performances include The Late Show with David Letterman (Tuesday), The View (Wednesday), The Ellen DeGeneres Show (Thursday), Katie and All Access Nashville with Katie Couric –- A Special Edition of 20/20 (both Friday). Entertainment Tonight has dedicated the next few days "Taylor Swift Week." Swift also will appear on SiriusXM this week and Access Hollywood, E! News and Extra next week.

In other news, Swift's face is on Papa John's pizza boxes because the company is sponsoring Taylor Swift Worldwide Radio Remote, an Oct. 26 radio event.
