This morning, as the sun came up and even a rainbow appeared in the sky, people used Facebook to let their family and friends know they were ok. Though Sandy left millions without power, and a huge mess that could take days to clean up, it seems the most important sentiment to get across was "we are ok."

Facebook Journalism Program Manager Vadim Lavrusik provided Mashable with this list of top 10 shared terms by people on Facebook in the U.S. since 10 a.m. ET Tuesday.

The terms have moved from yesterday's 'stay safe' to the all-important "we are ok."

1. we are ok

2. power – lost power, have power, no power

3. damage

4. hope everyone is ok

5. trees

6. made it

7. safe

8. thankful

9. fine

10. affected
