UPDATE: Pinterest announced secret boards Thursday morning.
Private boards may soon be coming to Pinterest.
When pinning an image to Mashable's Pinterest account Wednesday morning, we noticed a mention of "secret boards" (see screenshot above). We were unable to create secret boards or find another reference to them, however, signaling that this may be a feature that Pinterest is preparing to roll out shortly.
Pinterest could not immediately be reached for comment.
The change comes a day after the San Francisco-based startup posted an alert about scheduled maintenance on its site Tuesday afternoon.
